On Wednesday, April 15th EPA and the Site Team facilitated a tour of the Velsicol Superfund Sites for CAG officers and the regional directors for US Senators Elissa Slotkin (Jeremy Blatt) and Gary Peters (Quentin Groce).
The CAG had a table at the Joe Schultz Memorial Free Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 13th. Our group provided hot dogs for lunch and Gary gathered information about fishing derby results.
Since our last meeting, Doug Brecht shared news articles with the CAG Executive Committee related to AI data centers, US EPA and MI EGLE programs, and news coverage of farming challenges, PFAS contamination, as well as environmental health issues in the US.
Please help us distribute the Science Journal for Kids article and companion curriculum for middle and high school students is now available at the following link: https://www.sciencejournalforkids.org/articles/what-can-we-learn-from-environmental-accidents/. The materials break down an academic paper on health impacts from the Michigan PBB Disaster (PBB State of the Science) and are available in both English and Spanish. The CAG funded the project (not with federal dollars).
