4. Correspondence and Communication - Brittany Fremion 

  • The CAG shared the three interim reports for its Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission with EPA in October. The FOIA was for historical records related to radioactive waste at the former plant site (FPS). The request is still in progress. 

  • The federal government shutdown delayed the TAG process, as well as resulted in furloughing and layoffs of EPA support staff. The CAG sent an official letter to federal representatives related to the impacts of the government shutdown on our ability to hire a Technical Advisor using our TAG funds on October 28th. 

  • The CAG is still waiting on a response from EPA for its OU4 NEBA letter, sent October 9th, and appreciates updates from EPA about delays given the federal government shutdown. 

  • Doug Brecht shared regional and national news reports related to state and federal agency actions tied to forever chemicals, CAFOs, and the government shutdown. 

  • Science Journal for Kids article under revision with companion curriculum for middle and high school students. The article translates a PBB State of the Science paper on health impacts from PBB exposure and is funded by the CAG (not with federal funds).
