We have recently added to our documents, this 1980 report from the Enforcement Division at US EPA, Region 5 (Chicago) reviewing in great detail the record of dumping in the Pine River Watershed by Velsicol. The document lists when various discharge pipes went into use, extending back to the opening of Michigan Chemical (the first discharges identified in the report are in 1936). The report also describes dumping at what later is called the Burn Pit or Golf Course Site, the Gratiot County Landfill, the form city dump, Smith Farm and other sites. While the focus at the time was PBB dumping, it covers many other contaminants, including DDT. Here is a link to the text:
